Rachel Carson was a pioneering scientist and an inspiration to many. Her thought-provoking writings, particularly her book, “Silent Spring,” proved instrumental in the creation of the modern environmental movement. She was a passionate observer who believed a child’s sense of wonder invokes an enduring love of nature.
While the coast of Maine provided Carson with inspiration, the beautiful areas in, on, and around, Monterey Bay provide the inspiration for a new Pacific Grove Library art exhibition celebrating Carson’s enduring influence and a sense of wonder for the natural world at the “Edge of the Sea.” But the exhibition is only the beginning. Centering around the art exhibit will be lectures, nature walks, and much more. Come celebrate our beautiful coast with us!
